"SHARED VISION FOR A BETTER WORLD. "Spotlight on SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy."

Clean and reliable energy is about way more than just keeping the lights on. It is what keeps us connected online, powers the digital apps and banking we use every day, and helps build a greener, more sustainable future for everyone.

But how does all this tech work together safely? That is where international standards come in. Think of them as a universal rulebook. They make sure energy systems are safe and efficient, allowing green energy to power the digital technologies that run our modern world.

This World Standards Day, we are celebrating these global rules. They are the hidden tools turning the promise of SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) into real-world solutions that help people everywhere.

ISO/UNDP 53001:2026 - Management systems for United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

ISO/UNDP 53001:2026 is the World's First international standard to help organizations systematically contribute to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) originally established in 2015 to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity by 2030. Rather than treating sustainability as an isolated side project, this framework provides a structured "Plan-Do-Check-Act" approach that weaves the SDGs directly into an organization’s core strategy, daily operations, and decision-making. By taking an integrated, big-picture view, the standard helps groups identify their positive and negative real-world impacts, weigh important trade-offs so that helping one goal doesn't accidentally harm another, and transparently track progress using hard data. This rules-based system sets up the official baseline requirements for an SDG management system, while its companion guide, ISO/UNDP 53002, provides the practical implementation guidance needed to turn corporate promises into measurable, long-term global change.
